CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)-A new addiction treatment center, Spero Health, announced the company will open a new outpatient addiction treatment clinic in Clarksville, TN

The Clarksville Spero Health Clinic, located at 2284 Raleigh Ct, Suite A, will open its doors and start seeing new patients on Thursday, January 30.

Individuals who need addiction treatment services are encouraged to walk in for help or call: (931) 266-0722 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Clarksville was chosen as a location and is one of several clinics slated to open in Tennessee in 2020 to increase access to addiction treatment services statewide which is often a barrier to individuals getting the help they need, according to Ginger Jackson, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Spero Health.

New data from the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reveals there were 1,818 drug overdose deaths in 2018, the highest total since 2014.

In Montgomery County alone overdose-related death rates have doubled in the last 4 years. The state has expanded resources to address the epidemic and leaders from Spero Health say they can be part of the solution as there is a considerable need for high-quality treatment providers locally. The new clinic will join a network of over 30 clinics in 4 states.

Spero Health, is a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, (CARF)-accredited organization and accepts TennCare and participates with select commercial insurance plans to ensure cost is not a barrier to recovery.

“Traditionally addiction treatment services have been fragmented, and not patient-centered. Options have been limited because someone needing help may have to go to multiple places, and in some cases even travel to costly residential programs,” said Steve Priest, CEO of Spero Health. “Spero Heath changes that by bringing all of the necessary services needed in recovery under one roof, giving individuals local access to transformative treatment to sustain long-term recovery.”

Dr. Janet Pelmore, who is board-certified in Internal Medicine and certified in Addiction Medicine will be the medical director at this clinic. Dr. Pelmore has an extensive and distinguished background focused on substance use disorders in Tennessee.

“Spero Health’s priority is to meet individuals where they are in their journey and tailor their treatment plan to meet their specific needs,” Pelmore said. ” “Once an individual is stabilized, we provide support for sustained recovery — oftentimes for many months, depending on the individual. Our support team offers medication, counseling and other support services. This combination of therapy, called medication-assisted treatment (MAT) has been shown for many years to have the highest success rate for long term recovery.”

Spero Health, Clarksville will be looking for individuals to add to the treatment team such as licensed counselors.
