A Kingston nurse was sentenced to time served (11 days) after she was convicted of distributing a drug to inmates in a Department of Corrections mandated rehab facility in Plymouth.

Julie A. Inglis-Somers, 40, admitted in U.S. District Court in Boston earlier this year to providing the drug Suboxone to two inmates at the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Center in Plymouth on numerous occasions in 2018. She was sentenced Friday.

Suboxone is a Class II controlled substance, designed to treat heroin addiction but can be misused to get high.

Inglis-Somers worked as a nurse in the Plymouth facility, one of five in Massachusetts where judges can send individuals who are a danger to themselves or others due to substance abuse.

In addition to the 11 days already served, Inglis-Somers was ordered to complete three years of supervised release and to permanently forfeit her nursing license.
