BUTTERWORTH: A drug trafficking centre here was busted by the police.

The police held a special operation from Nov 4 to 6 and busted the site at Jalan Bagan Dalam in Butterworth, Penang.

The three-day operation saw the police confiscated 7.5g of heroin, 6.4g of methamphetamine and 500ml of Ketum water.

Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) police chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the drugs confiscated were worth around RM1,275 and could be used by 200 drug addicts.

“Those who were arrested will be remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code for further investigations.

“Some 108 drug addicts were caught and will be handed to the National Anti-Drugs Agency to be investigated under Section 3(1) of the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983, ” he said in a statement on Friday (Nov 8).

The police, said ACP Noorzainy, would also be placing mobile teams at the area from Nov 7 and 30 to ensure that there was no drug trafficking activities.
